East Grand Forks Company Lands $42.2 Million FM Area Diversion Contract

FARGO, ND. (KVRR) — Another contract is awarded for continuing work on the FM Area Diversion.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers awarded a $42.2 million contract to R.J. Zavoral & Sons of East Grand Forks.

It is for work on the southern embankment from near Horace to the Wild Rice River Structure.

Both of which are currently under construction.

The total length of the embankment is approximately 4 miles.

The total cost of the diversion is $3.2 billion and it’s expected to be finished in 2027.
