Hot Air Balloon Crashes Into Power Lines in Rochester, Minnesota

ROCHESTER, Minn. (KVRR/FOX9) — A hot air balloon crashes into a power line along Highway 63 in Rochester, Minnesota and it was all caught on a MnDOT camera around 6 p.m. and shared on social media.

You could see sparks as the balloon made contact with the live wires.

Rochester Police say the balloon was trying to land in a field when a gust of wind pushed it into the power line.

Three occupants were inside the basket, with two reporting minor injuries.

The sparking wires also set off a grass fire that crews had to get out.

The balloon was located a couple miles away.
