Moorhead Woman Sentenced To Jail for Hit & Run That Injured Boy Last April

MOORHEAD, Minn. (KVRR) — A Moorhead woman is sentenced to 60 days in Clay County Jail for a hit and run last April that injured a 12-year-old boy.
In January, 60-year-old Jacqueline Swanson changed her plea to guilty to criminal vehicular homicide, a second count was dropped.
During her sentencing today, the judge gave Swanson 18 months in prison but stayed the sentence as long as she follows terms of her probation for five years.
Police say Swanson hit the 12-year-old boy while riding his bike at Highway 10 and 21st Street South and fled the scene.
The boy suffered serious injuries and was treated at Mayo Clinic in Rochester.
Police tracked down her vehicle and said it had damage consistent with the crash, before locating Swanson at a Moorhead home.
