Moorhead will have underpass project open houses about road closures and construction
\MOORHEAD, Minn., (KVRR)– In Moorhead, the 11th Street Underpass project has started with road closures and open Houses.
First Avenue between 10th and 12th streets as well as 11th street between 2nd Avenue North and Main Avenue are now closed.
The closures are expected to last for awhile since the entire project will take about two and a half years to finish.
Minnesota DOT has organized 2 open houses, one on Thursday and the other on April 4 at Hjemkomst Center, to keep citizens informed on what’s going on with the project.
“I would say for anytime we’re doing projects, we want to keep the public informed. We always say an informed public is a safer public. If everybody knows what the game plan is, we hope that it makes it easier for people to cooperate, to follow the detours, to use the right routes so that they could stay safe,” said Emma Olson, MNDOT Public Affairs Coordinator.
