North Dakota Joins Lawsuit Over Biden’s Student Loan Debt Plans

BISMARCK, N.D. (KVRR) — North Dakota has joined a lawsuit challenging the Biden administration’s attempts to cancel student loan debt.

The lawsuit is being led by Missouri and also includes Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Ohio and Oklahoma.

They say Biden is violating the separation of powers clause in the U.S. Constitution and the federal Administrative Procedures Act.

That dictates Congress should decide matters of such high importance and cost, estimated at over $475 billion over a 10-year period.

Gov. Doug Burgum says North Dakota’s situation is unique because the state-owned Bank of North Dakota allowed borrowers to consolidate their federal student loans at lower interest rates.

He says those borrowers wouldn’t be eligible for Biden’s bailout, which smacks of unfairness.
