Governor Walz Appoints Two New Justices to the Minnesota Supreme Court

ST. PAUL (KVRR) — Gov. Tim Walz announces the appointments of two new justices to the Minnesota Supreme Court.
Theodora Gaïtas will replace the Honorable Margaret H. Chutich who announced her retirement in January.
Sara Hennesy will be replacing the Honorable G. Barry Anderson who announced his retirement earlier this year.
She is currently the chief judge of the Seventh Judicial District which stretches from Stearns County to the North Dakota border.
“I am for one incredibly grateful and would mention again, every single person who applied to serve the state of Minnesota in this role should be thanked and I’d like to give them all a big round of applause,” Walz told the assembled crowd.
With these latest appointments, the Minnesota Supreme Court will now have a majority of female justices.
