MSUM Softball cruises to NSIC semifinals after crushing MSU Mankato

SIOUX FALLS, SD (KVRR) – The Minnesota State University Moorhead Dragons are off to the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference tournament semifinals after drubbing the foes in five innings. MSUM won 9-0 over the MSU-Mankato Mavericks behind their offense and dominant pitching.
Evey Evans and Lizzy Davis combined for four hits and six RBIs. While Azalya Lopez earned the win on the mound to improve to 19-5 on the year. She only gave up three hits through five innings of work.
“It’s my senior year so to know that I have one more game and this isn’t the end of the season it means everything to me.” said Evans to the NSIC Network.
The Dragons now prepare for the Augustana Vikings, who are the #1 seed and have only lost once in their conference schedule. That loss was against MSUM back on March 23 in a 5-4 game.
That game will be at noon on Friday in Sioux Falls, SD.
