LIVE: Rock from the Heart
Rock your heart out.
FARGO — They’ll be rocking their hearts out this weekend in Fargo, and if you join them, you could help heal someone’s — maybe your own.
Rock from the Heart is partnering for the first time with Sanford Health for a celebration of all things coronary.
The group’s co-founders, a husband and wife team, established it to raise awareness of aortic and heart valve disease after he was diagnosed by his doctor with an aorta problem that had gone on unnoticed because it had never caused noticeable symptoms.
He had to undergo open heart surgery to repair the issue.
They now work to raise funds and awareness of the issue, and connect patients with each other to get support in dealing with the healing process and uncertainty of life after heart disease.
This weekend, they’re holding a benefit performance in Fargo with Rick Springfield.
It’ll also feature a performance from the co-founder’s band, “Aortic Fire.”
Co-founder Amy Johnson joined the Morning Show to talk about their journey through aortic and heart valve disease, about partnering with Sanford Health for the first time, and what she wants everyone to know about their risk of heart disease.
