FARGO, N.D (KVRR) — The first Fargo Tattoo Expo came to town over the weekend. It was held at Ramada by Wyndham.

People had the opportunity to get tattoos done by artists from around the country, including some who had been featured on the TV show, “Ink Master.”

The event also featured sword swallowing performances by “sideshow couple,” Captain and Maybelle. The pair gained popularity on season 6 of America’s Got Talent.

Captain Steele said that sideshow performances like theirs go hand in hand with the tattoo community. He says, “We are the modern day carnival. We roll into town. We bring fun and excitement. We set up our operations and then people come around. They’re getting tattooed. They are being entertained and everything and then by Monday morning, we’re packed up. We’re out of town just like the old carnival used to be.”

Organizers said they were impressed with the turnout and are already working on coming back next year.
