Fargo residents look to upcycle furniture during “Cleanup Week”
FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — Fargo, Moorhead, West Fargo and Dilworth kick off the annual “Cleanup Week.”
For most Fargo residents, “Cleanup Week” is an opportunity to get rid of unwanted furniture and appliances. But for some, it’s a chance to find new treasures.
Some people are taking the opportunity to upcycle this used furniture.
“I mean, “Cleanup Week” is always interesting. I don’t know I guess I look forward to every year just to look around.”
Casey and Charlene said that they’ve been looking for a couch for awhile before Casey stumbled upon this “Cleanup Week” treasure.
“It’s funny. We’ve been looking for a new couch for a while. Looking at the furniture stores, Facebook marketplace, and I just so happened to drive by and I’m just like that looks pretty nice.”
He said that he’s always taken a look during cleanup week, but hadn’t come across anything before.
“Nothing like this. I’ve looked around previous years, but again nothing like this.”
Friends of his however have been able to find some real treasures.
“I’ve had friends before that have found some really cool things. Like found an arcade cabinet, like a vintage arcade cabinet, that he refinished. So there’s some good stuff out here. You just have to really know where you’re looking.”
“Cleanup Week” will continue in Fargo and Moorhead through May 17th. West Fargo and Dilworth will continue its cleanup through Friday, the 10th.
