Child Killed on Farm in Rural Casselton In Dirt Bike Crash

CASSELTON, N.D. (KVRR) — A Casselton, North Dakota child is dead after crashing a dirt bike into farm equipment.

North Dakota Highway Patrol and Cass County Sheriff’s Office say the crash happened around 5 p.m. Saturday on a farm about three and a half miles northeast of Casselton.

The 8-year-old was turning in the yard, lost control and hit the stationary farm equipment.

The rider was not wearing a helmet.

Lifesaving efforts were attempted on scene before the child was flown to Sanford in Fargo and pronounced dead.

The crash remains under investigation.

Highway Patrol says the child’s name will not be released.
