Groundbreaking for new Moorhead Community Center And Public Library

MOORHEAD, Minn. (KVRR) – A groundbreaking ceremony is held for the new Moorhead Community Center and Public Library.

The state-of-the-art complex will house spaces for learning, business, play and exercise.

It is part of an effort to revitalize downtown Moorhead, and city and library officials hope that it will become a cultural anchor in the community.

Moorhead Public Library’s director says that the building is a much needed upgrade for the library, with their current building being over 60 years old.

“We do try to keep up with the times. We haven’t stayed stagnant for the last 60 years, but this space will really allow us to blossom and really serve the community better,” said Megan Krueger.

Construction on the new facility is expected to be completed in 2026.
