Child Dies After Crash Monday Near Grand Forks, Charges Could Be Upgraded

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (KVRR/KFGO) — Charges against a Fordville, North Dakota man who rear-ended a vehicle stopped at a red light near Grand Forks International Airport are expected to be upgraded.

A six-year-old child in the vehicle that was hit has died at a Fargo hospital.

The driver of the vehicle, 26-year-old Nicole Louthain, was seriously injured and taken to Altru in Grand Forks.

Both people are from Grand Forks Air Force Base.

43-year-old Travis Bell was arrested after the Monday evening crash after failing field sobriety and breathalyzer tests.

He was charged with criminal vehicular injury but those charges are expected to be upgraded.
