Red River Zoo honors longtime volunteer

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — Wendy Trottier had volunteered at the zoo since the early days, helping to support the zoo in any way she could.

Trottier passed away in March, and in recognition of her passion, the zoo named their Wendy Trottier Discovery Center in her honor.

Zoo President Sally Mulvena said that this was the perfect way to remember Trottier’s commitment to education, and what she meant to the zoo community.

“There is not a single day that goes by where a guest doesn’t ask about Wendy. That’s her impact in our community, and that’s the impact someone can have through volunteerism. And so to have her family come out, it’s touching. There’s a lot of tears, there’s a lot of joy.”

Many guests at the event, including Trottier’s friends and family were thankful to see her legacy of volunteerism honored and remembered.
