Motorcycle Vs. Deer Fatal Crash in Pembina County, North Dakota, Driver Faces Charges

PEMBINA CO., N.D. (KVRR) — A Cavalier, North Dakota motorcycle driver has serious life-threatening injuries and faces charges after crashing into a deer, killing his passenger.

Highway Patrol says the crash happened Friday night around 11 on County Road 4, about 4 Miles east of Bathgate.

A deer came out of the ditch and into the path of 43-year-old Robert Winkler’s motorcycle.

43-year-old Jenny Halldorson of Hamilton, North Dakota was thrown from the bike and died at the scene.

Winkler ended up in the ditch and trapped underneath his motorcycle.

He was taken to Pembina County Memorial Hospital in Cavalier.

No helmets were worn.

Winkler faces charges of driving under revocation and driving without liability insurance.
