Moorhead man arrested, victim identified in fatal shooting

MOORHEAD, Minn. (KVRR) — Moorhead police make an arrest after a man who was shot Wednesday morning has died.

Officers arrested 35-year-old Jamal Ahmed of Moorhead for the death of 37-year-old Franky Torres.

Police responded around 3 a.m. Wednesday to a parking lot of the 900 block of 18th Street South for a man with a gunshot wound to his head.

Torres was taken to Sanford Medical Center where he later died.

Torres and Ahmed were with mutual acquaintances during this incident.

Ahmed is in the Clay County Jail and could face murder charges. The gun used has not been located.
