Update: One suspect arrested after property dispute leads to gunfire in Moorhead

MOORHEAD, Minn. (KVRR) – Moorhead police are investigating an incident involving gunshots Wednesday evening.

Tamorris Dempsey, 45, was arrested on three counts of 2nd degree assault, three counts of drive-by shooting, and three counts of discharge of a firearm.

Police say at approximately 7:10 p.m., officers responded to multiple reports of gunshots. Two parties exchanged gunfire.

It is believed that two parties known to each other had a property dispute at a residence in the 1000 block of 14 Street South that led to a  physical altercation.

Police say one of the parties began to leave in a vehicle, and an exchange of gunfire took place between an individual in the vehicle and an individual at the residence.

Those who left the scene in the vehicle called 911 to report the shooting. The vehicle was located in the 3000 block of 20 Street South, where officers detained two adult males. Officers at the residence detained one adult male.

There were no reports of injuries, but some property damage occurred from stray bullets. Police say it’s believed all guns used in the shooting were recovered.
