One person killed in Becker County crash

BECKER COUNTY, Minn. (KVRR) — A man is dead after rolling his vehicle and hitting a power pole in Becker County.

The sheriff’s office says 74-year-old Mathew Mess, of rural Frazee, was on County Hwy. 56, west of 400th Avenue, near Little Toad Lake when he drove into the ditch.

Mess was the only one in the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detroit Lakes and Frazee Fire Departments, Frazee Rescue, Essentia-St. Mary’s EMS and Wild Rice Power Company all assisted.
