Fire Crews Called Out to Ammonium Bisulfite Spill in Grand Forks

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (KVRR) —  Grand Forks Fire Department was called out for a hazmat spill.

It happened around 5 p.m. at 4401 32nd Avenue South.

The units encountered a semi carrying Ammonium Bisulfite tipped over on its side.

Crews worked to dam the product spilling from the trailer, preventing it from getting into the storm sewer system.

Grand Forks Public Works department was called to apply sand to the spilled product.

A contractor was contacted to clean up the product.

There were no injuries to the public or fire personnel.
