Hot Embers From Fire Pit Sets of String of Fires Monday Night in Breckenridge

BRECKENRIDGE, Minn. (KVRR) — Hot embers from a fire pit set off a string of fires last night in Breckenridge.

It was near a garage at 604 Nebraska Avenue.

The garage started on fire and ignited a large pine tree nearby.

The wind sent embers from the tree to neighboring yards and as far as four houses to the north causing additional fires in yards and garages.

At the same time, an electrical line above the garage broke free and was laying across the alley.

Breckenridge Fire, Police and Public Utilities all responded.

No one was injured.

Police say the incident is under investigation.
