Four People Rescued After Duck Hunting Boat Capsized on Bird Lake East of Alexandria, MN

DOUGLAS CO., Minn. (KVRR) — Crews rush to Bird Lake, east of Alexandria, Minnesota, to rescue four people after their duck hunting boat capsized.
Two adults and two kids went into the water around 6 a.m. Saturday.
They were having a hard time staying above water since their waders had filled with water.
But they were all able to hold on to the boat as Douglas County sent out its water patrol boat and dive team airboat.
Deputies arrived and rescued everyone.
They remind people to wear lifejackets, which none of the four had on.
They say drowning is the leading cause of death for waterfowl hunters.
