Statewide Fire Emergency Declared for North Dakota

BISMARCK, N.D. (KVRR) — Gov. Doug Burgum has declared a statewide fire emergency and has activated plans to deal with rapid wildfire response.

The state has seen above average temperatures, gusty winds and a lack of precipication.

This is a map of the daily burn restrictions by county.

The ones in “red” have restrictions in place.

Nearly 3,500 acres have burned in North Dakota in the last week alone across 67 reported fires.
