8-Plex Residents Displaced in Overnight House Fire
GRAND FORKS, N.D. — Grand Forks Fire officials say an entire apartment building’s worth of people is left homeless Monday morning after a late-night fire there Sunday.
Fire Battalion Chief Brandon LaRoque says fire crews went to the reported structure fire at 1120 North 39th Street at about 11 PM.
When they go there, they found significant fire and heavy smoke coming out of a first-floor unit of the 8-plex
They put it out, but there was heavy fire damage to the apartment involved.
LaRoque says there was also moderate fire damage to the outer balcony and eave above the fire area.
No one was hurt, but everyone who lived there is displaced.
LaRoque says those residents are getting assistance.
The cause is under investigation.
