Fire emergency declared, burn restrictions in Cass County

CASS COUNTY, N.D. (KVRR) — Cass County declares a fire emergency and puts burn restrictions in place.
The board of commissioners says it’s in effect through October 17th.
The North Dakota Rangeland Fire Danger Rating for Cass County is High, Very High or Extreme and/or a Red Flag Warning has been issued by the National Weather Service.
The restriction includes the burning of leaves, grass clippings, garbage/pits, construction debris, fallen trees, crop residue or hay land, sloughs, and bonfires.
A violation has a maximum sentence of 30 days in jail and a $1,500 fine.
