Death of Infant on White Earth Reservation Under Investiation

WHITE EARTH RESERVATION (KVRR) — White Earth Tribal Police are investigating the death of a one-and-a-half month old infant.

They were called to a home Wednesday in the village of Rice Lake, south of Bagley, for an infant who was not breathing.

Officers started life-saving measures until medics arrived.

The measures were unsuccessful and the baby was pronounced dead.

Mental and Behavioral Health Services were on scene to provide support to the family and others.

Police offering thoughts and prayers and saying they will not be releasing more information at this time.
