MSUM Announces Full Ride Tuition For Moorhead High School Students
MOORHEAD, Minn. (KVRR) — Minnesota State University Moorhead has announced a partnership with Moorhead Area Public Schools.
Moorhead Scholars program hopes to keep high-performing Moorhead students in the community by offering to cover any remaining tuition costs at MSUM after all available gift aid has been applied.
Starting with the class of 2025, Moorhead students must meet the following criteria to be eligible for the program: be a graduate of Moorhead High School, have a minimum 3.0 grade point average, complete their FAFSA application by May 1, and they must enroll as a full time student the fall following their high school graduation.
“The town has grown over 20 percent. Well, one way to keep it growing is to keep an employment base here and then more companies move here or grow and we have the employees. So it’s really a systemic issue and it’s a community-based issue to grow the community, and that was the genisis of this project,” said Tim Downs, MSUM President.
Moorhead Scholars program is accomplished through a combination of federal, state, and institutional grants and scholarships.
