Metro Flood Diversion Authority To Offer Executive Director Job to Jason Benson

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — Jason Benson of West Fargo has been chosen to become the next executive director of the Metro Flood Diversion Authority.
He was selected by the board out of a pool of three finalists for the job.
Benson is the county engineer for the Cass County Highway Department, a role he has held since 2011.
He has been with the department since 2000.
Benson is currently in the Middle East in his role as a brigadier general in the Minnesota Army National Guard.
His deployment is expected to end in December and if he agrees to the employment offer, will transition into Metro Flood Diversion Authority executive director in early 2025.
Michael Redlinger, City of Fargo city administrator Michael Redlinger and Cass County Administrator Robert Wilson will continue to serve as co-executive directors until that time.
The job opened up last April with the resignation of Joel Paulsen over a contract dispute.
He is now running for a seat on the Clay County Commission.
