Semi Driver Issued A Citation After Train Hits Trailer Near Mapleton

CASS CO., N.D. (KVRR) — The driver of a semi pulling a trailer tried to beat the train but didn’t quite make it east of Mapleton, North Dakota.

The BNSF train hit the trailer at an uncontrolled railroad crossing just after 8 this morning.

There were no injuries or a derailment and just some property damage.

Cass County Sherrif’s Office says the 27-year-old semi driver was issued a citation for failure to stop at a railroad crossing.

The incident remains under investigation.
