TJ And Alison “Read For The Record” At West Acres Mall
FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — We are once again proud to take part in the “Read For The Record” event: the world’s largest shared reading experience.
TJ Nelson and Alison Voorhees read this year’s selection, “Piper Chen Sings”, to youngsters at West Acres Mall.
Each year a book is chosen to be read on the same day at locations all around the world.
The event promotes early literacy and access to inclusive, high-quality books through shared reading.
The local event is put on by NDSU’s Golden Key International Honour Society.
“I grew up reading. I did it all the time as a kid, I read tons and tons of books. It was very important in my household. And so I’ve instilled that in my nieces and other kids, so this service project is just a great way for me to help kids build that foundation and love learning as much as I did,” says Bonnie Cooper the advisor of NDSU’s chapter of Golden Key International Honour Society.
Over the course of 19 years, more than 28 million people have taken part in “Read for the Record”.
