12th Year of Gowri’s Annual Food Drive in FM Metro

Gowri Food Drive

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — A West Fargo teen continues her mission to help others and fight hunger.

This is the 12th year of Gowri’s Annual Food Drive.

She is trying to raise $3,000 and collect 1,500 pounds of food for Great Plains Food Bank.

It all started for Gowri Pillai when she was 4 and witnessed homelessness and was moved to make a difference, asking for food donations instead of birthday gifts to support those in need.

In more recent years she has been joined by her younger brother, Advaith, and together they have raised enough donations and funds to provide around 25,000 meals.

Food Drive: Food is being collected across the FMWF community. Donations can be brought straight to the Great Plains Food Bank at 720 3rd Ave N, Fargo, ND 58102, or donated at any of the following locations:

The food drive runs October 21 and November 1.
