Atonement Lutheran Church Hosts “Day of Bread” Soup Buffet

The event has been taking place in some fashion for over 40 years.

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — Folks from around the Fargo-Moorhead region poured into the Atonement Lutheran Church to enjoy a hearty meal – and give back to good causes.

The Day of Bread soup buffet, hosted by the church, featured over 30 homemade soups, plus sandwiches and desserts. Those who purchased a $10 entry ticket ($5 for children under age 10) got access to the delicious buffet, as well as other activities such as a bake sale and craft market.

The proceeds from ticket sales will be split evenly amongst the YWCA of Cass-Clay, Churches United, and the Emergency Food Pantry.

“100% of that fee goes to those three organizations,” said Amy Okeson, the church’s Director of Serving Ministry.

Okeson went on to say that in past years, they had raised anywhere from $3,000 to $5,000, but with the exceptional turnout this year, they believed they had surpassed that total.
