3 injured in alcohol-related crash near East Grand Forks

EAST GRAND FORKS, Minn. (KVRR-KFGO) – Three people were injured in an alcohol-related crash in northwest Minnesota Sunday.
The crash happened at the intersection of Highways 2 and 220 just southeast of East Grand Forks around 4:30 p.m.
The state patrol says 54-year-old Vicente Gomez of San Antonio, Texas was driving an SUV south when the vehicle crashed into an eastbound pickup.
The man and his passenger, 47-year-old Dinora Rangel of San Antonio, and the 72-year-old East Grand Forks woman driving the pickup all suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
The State Patrol says Gomez is suspected of drinking alcohol prior to the crash.
The Polk County Sheriff’s Office, East Grand Forks Police, East Grand Forks Fire, and Altru EMS responded.
