$112 million in federal funds to keep Minnesota homes warm this winter

ST. PAUL, Minn. (KVRR) — Governor Tim Walz announces $112 million in federal funds have been awarded to the Minnesota Energy Assistance Program.

The funding will provide energy assistance to income-eligible Minnesota homeowners and renters to help keep their homes warm this winter.

Walz says higher utility bills in the winter can put a strain on budgets and this program will make a big difference in lowering costs and keeping people safe.

Last year, the energy assistance program awarded more than 129,000 households with energy assistance.
