Nailed It! Fundraiser Brings Fun, Awareness to Junkyard Brewing
$1 from every pint sold during the event went to Rebuilding Together F-M.
WEST FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — Board games and other activities of that nature are fairly common fixtures at breweries these days.
What you’re not often going to find, though, are hammering or plumbing contests.
But when the creative minds behind Junkyard West Fargo and Rebuilding Together partnered up –
that’s exactly what came to fruition.
“I think that the plumbing challenge is going to be pretty tough. For most people,” said Junkyard owner Michelle Juhnke.
“You know, if we have some plumbers here, I’m sure they can do it with their eyes closed.”
The games were designed to keep the audience engaged and buying drinks, as $1 from every pint went back to Rebuilding Together. Additionally, though, they were a tie-in with the work that Rebuilding Together does – providing renovations free of charge to homeowners in the area that lack the financial means to handle that work themselves.
Executive Director Cassie Skalicky said it was truly moving to see those improvements in person.
“We get to go straight out to the homes and see the changes and modifications that are made,” she explained, “and know that somebody is safe and healthy in their home that they’ve lived in for many years.”
Physical volunteer opportunities for the organization are largely available during the non-winter months, but the non-profit is always in great need of donations. If you’d like to find a way to give back, visit https://rebuildingtogetherfma.org/.
