BISMARCK, N.D. (KVRR) — North Dakota Republican Governor-elect Kelly Armstrong reaches across party lines for one of his latest cabinet appointments.

He has named Democratic State Rep. Corey Mock of Grand Forks as Chief Information Officer for the Information and Technology Department.

In a statement, Mock said he’s honored to take the position and says technology plays an increasingly crucial role in delivering efficient, secure government services.

Mock was first elected to the legislature in 2009.

Armstrong also appointed Joe Morrissette as Director of the Office of Management and Budget and Chris Schilken as Commerce Commissioner.

He is keeping nearly a dozen Burgum cabinet members in their positions.

Armstrong will be sworn in as North Dakota’s 34th governor on December 15.
