Swing Barrel Brewing Co. Hosts Game Watch for Good Cause

Fans of both Montana and Montana State swung by to catch the game and donate to local charities.

MOORHEAD, Minn. (KVRR) — Montana and Montana State alums may not get along when it comes to football, but they can definitely agree that charities like Churches United and organizations such as the Great Plains Food Bank deserve support for the work they do in the community.

Swing Barrel Brewing agreed, and therefore hosted the “Brawl of the Wild” event on November 22nd and 23rd.

Both days featured a silent auction, with proceeds going to the aforementioned groups. There were also donation boxes for the food bank specifically.

Swing Barrel owner Sean Syverson said being able to host events such as this is vital to their mission as a business.

“That’s the main ingredient to what we do here. Obviously we brew beer. But breweries, taprooms, they bring a community together. They kind of bring a little life to your main street,” Syverson explained.

“And that’s just kind of what we focus on. We try to get involved in the community, we try to help other peoples, other organizations.”

Everybody went home happy, having supported worthy causes – but Montana State fans were slightly more pleased, their Bobcats winning by a score of 34 to 11.
