Teen Expected To Plead Guilty in Grand Forks Murder Case

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (KVRR) — A court hearing tomorrow for a Grand Forks teen charged with murder has been canceled.

18-year-old Cazmere Haskins is now expected to plead guilty at a change of plea hearing on December 9.

Haskins is charged with AA felony murder for the stabbing death of 24-year-old Anfernee Economy of Grand Forks.

It happened during a fight at an apartment complex in the southern part of the city on March 7.

Economy was pronounced dead at the scene.

Haskins was 17 at the time of the murder but was charged as an adult in Grand Forks County court.

He claimed he was acting in self-defense.
