ROTHSAY, Minn. (KVRR/KFGO) — A former Rothsay, Minnesota city clerk is charged with ten counts of theft and accused of stealing over $48,000 from the city.

37-year-old Lisa Zimmerman is accused of taking cash utility payments and not depositing them into city accounts.

City leaders told law enforcement that they noticed a drop in utility deposits starting in September 2019, despite no changes being made to payments.

The drop ended when Zimmerman left city employment in September 2022.

Zimmerman is also accused of collecting money for a local cancer patient, and depositing the donations into her own account.
