LIVE: Storytellers from The Tell talk about the art of unscripted storytelling

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) – The Tell – Fargo is giving you a chance to see some of the best storytellers in our community weave interesting yarns as they compete for the season championship.

Their Tell-Off event on Thursday is the culmination of a season of impromptu storytelling, in which people take to the stage to tell unscripted stories about their lives.

They have been running their events for a number of years, with themed nights being judged to select the best of the best to compete at the end of the season.

They say that this kind of storytelling gives people a chance to be vulnerable, and tell their stories in a more natural way.

“So some people will think, oh, yeah, okay, I have a story, and I’m going to work on it before and then I’ll hope that I get drawn and I could tell this story. And then there are other people like me who maybe sit through the first half and think, i don’t have a story. i don’t have a story. Then somebody says something that makes me think, oh, I do have a story. and so maybe I’ll put my name in the hat.”

The Tell-Off kicks off at 7 P.M. Thursday, tickets ar $15 at the door.
