Open House Discussion on the Future of I-94 in Moorhead
The civil engineering firm Bolton & Menk is reimagining the stretch between Highway 336 and the Red River Bridge.
MOORHEAD, Minn. (KVRR) – Conversations were the name of the game at an informational forum held at the Moorhead Area Conference Center on the evening of December 11.
Following a presentation from project managers, a public Q&A session was held, and multiple extended individual talks went on long after the event had technically ended.
“We’re here today to listen, hear some stories,” explained Mike Bittner, Senior Transportation Project Manager for Bolton & Menk, “and understand the needs of today and also the needs of tomorrow for the corridor.”
A good number of people turned up to voice their opinions on potential overhauls such as adding more lanes and identifying a new space for a rest area and weigh station.
The firm then plans to take all the sentiments expressed via comment cards or the online survey on the MNDOT website and reemerge with a slate of concepts around July of 2025 – so the public can give even more input as this 10-year project picks up steam.
