Mexican Village To Close After Over 50 Years in Business in Fargo

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — A restaurant that has been a part of the Fargo area for 50 years is closing its doors.

Mexican Village announcing on social media that it will close its 45th Street South location on December 31.

They write that the decision was not taken lightly.

They previously closed the original downtown location on Main Avenue in February 2023.

The business opened in 1970.

The general manager says they never really recovered after the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Times have been difficult from COVID and everything and it’s just, it was time,” said Hayley Gust.

In their online post they wrote, “We treasure the shared experiences with you and appreciate your patronage greatly. These are exceptional times, and we are thankful for your understanding.”

They will be accepting gift cards until the final day in business.

The building is up for sale.
