Junkyard Brewing Co. Celebrates National Popcorn Day

The day was created back in 2013 to commemorate Americans' monumental popcorn consumption.

WEST FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) – Movie buffs and snackaholics alike, rejoice – it is National Popcorn Day.

The day began in 2013, to celebrate the wild fact that Americans consume 13 billion quarts of popcorn a year – more than any other country in the world.

Some of that was popped down at Junkyard Brewing in West Fargo, which had a popcorn bar to celebrate the event.

There were all kinds of topping options, from sweet to savory.

Junkyard said they wanted to make sure they had something for everyone.

“M&M’s, pretzels, you name it,” said Dustin Hoobler DeTar, lead brewer.

“We are going to keep the popcorn hot and fresh all day. Lots of treats, good for the whole family to come and hang out.”

Junkyard also wants you to keep an eye out for their latest Great Collaboration beer.

It’s a special variety, voted on by fans on social media, and it should be coming out in the next month.
