Demonstrators Appear Outside Fargo Post Office To Express Concerns Over Immigration And Federal Funded Programs
FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) –A small crowd huddled outside the downtown Fargo post office to express their concerns over immigration and other issues, including Medicaid and the SNAP program.
“We need to do something. We just can’t sit in our houses and be upset about stuff. We have to get out and try to make a change,” said Marlene Christian, Fargo Resident.
“You’re all welcome here. Doesn’t matter if you were born here or not. If you go through one Fargo winter, and you don’t run away screaming, you can call yourself from Fargo,” said Ben Lippincott, Fargo Resident.
The local protest was organized on social media. The demonstrators said they wanted to send a message to Gov. Kelly Armstrong, Sen. Kevin Cramer, and Sen. John Hoeven.
“They’re not here. The people are here. The people are who you’re supposed to be representing, not your party,” said Lippincott.
“We have billionaires making all these decisions, they don’t have a clue of what’s going on. They just keep making more and more decisions that are not helping the people. They’re getting rid of the people, the culture. They’re getting rid of what made the United States,” said Christian.
The protest comes on the same day that a national protest against Project 2025 was planned at state capitals across the country.
