Firefighter Injured While Fighting House Fire in Emerado Saturday Night

EMERADO, N.D. (KVRR) — A fire in Emerado, North Dakota Saturday night destroys a house and injures a firefighter.

Crews arrived just after 10 p.m. to flames coming from the attic of the house.

The fire quickly spread to others areas of the structure and the house is considered a total loss.

People inside at the time of the fire were able to get out safely.

One firefighter was taken to Altru Hospital for injuries sustained on scene.

That firefighter was treated and is now home resting.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Emerado Fire Department is reminding everyone to test your smoke alarms on a regular basis, and to replace the detectors before they become 10 years old.
