Sen. Hoeven Invites Brooke Rollins to North Dakota After She Is Confirmed as Ag Secretary

WASHINGTON, D.C. (KVRR) — Brooke Rollins has been confirmed as secretary of agriculture.
The Senate confirmed Rollins in a 72-28 vote, placing a close ally of President Donald Trump into a key Cabinet position at a time when mass deportation plans could lead to farm labor shortages and tariffs could hit agricultural exports.
Rollins says Americans support Trump’s plans and she would work to help the president while also trying to protect farmers.
She is an attorney who previously served as policy director to Republican Gov. Rick Perry of Texas.
“Congratulations to Brooke Rollins on her confirmation to lead the Department of Agriculture. Secretary Rollins grew up on a ranch so she not only has the right background, but she has the ear of President Trump and will be a great advocate for our farmers and ranchers. We look forward to working with her to advance the priorities of our producers and rural America, and appreciate her commitment to come to North Dakota to see firsthand our state’s agricultural leadership.”
Hoeven is chairman of the Senate Agriculture Appropriations Committee.
