Hope Inc. Hosts Sled Hockey Jamboree

The Hope Hurricanes are preparing to defend their National Championship that they won back in 2024.

MOORHEAD, Minn. (KVRR) —  The action started at the Moorhead Youth Hockey facility on the evening of Friday, March 7 and didn’t let up until the afternoon of Sunday, March 9.

Hope Inc, an organization dedicated to putting on engaging events for those with mobility issues, hosted this Sled Hockey Jamboree, and teams turned up from all over the place.

“We have teams coming from Western North Dakota, from down in the Cities, from Sioux Falls – it’s just a fun weekend for everyone to get together and play some hockey,” said Executive Director Bill Grommesh.

While the Hope Inc. sled hockey team, the Hurricanes, are quite talented, having won the national championship in 2024 – this weekend wasn’t about winning or losing.

“Everybody’s playing each other a time or two and just focusing on some good competition,” Grommesh added.
