Churches United Provides Update on Financial Future
Months after facing a possible complete shutdown, the nonprofit has cleared all its debts.
FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) – At the First Presbyterian Church in Downtown Fargo, the event Uniting Churches for Churches United was held, with darn near unbelievably rosy updates on the future of the organization.
“The individual giving is nothing short of divine,” said the CEO of Churches United, Pastor Devlyn Brooks.
Pastor Brooks took over as CEO for Churches United at a time last August when the non-profit needed to raise over $100,000 by the end of the month just to stay afloat.
Since then, the community has responded emphatically – especially on this past Giving Hearts Day.
“I believe the number is between 480-490 thousand. So it was pretty incredible for the community to come out for us like that,” said Maverick Cashman, Community Outreach Coordinator for Churches United.
That influx of funding has led to amazing news.
“In addition to those state funds, if we add in the donations that we have, 2025 is secure,” said Pastor Brooks.
