Major Storm Front Brewing Late Friday Evening Into Saturday Evening

(KVRR) — A major storm front is expected to hit parts of North Dakota into west central Minnesota starting later this evening into Saturday evening.
Scattered thunderstorms were expected to start sometime this afternoon with gusty winds, lightning, and small hail.
Rain will change into freezing rain from west to east tonight.
Snow is to be expected to start in the early hours of the morning with accumulations of up to 8 inches.
“It’s one thing that’s very helpful to know what is going on out there as far as if there’s closures, lane blockages, crashes, things like that is very helpful to know. And just being prepared is what it comes down to. Using good common sense, know before you go. If the conditions just not helping out there, then you might want to keep the cruise control off things like that. But of course, your best defense is always going to be wearing a seat belt. Nobody plans to get in a crash but they do help save lives,” said Sgt. Jesse Grabow, Minnesota State Patrol.
Minnesota State Patrol recommends driving with caution if you need to drive this weekend.
