LIVE: NDSU launches new Herd U summer program for young students
FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) – It may be hard coming off of a snow storm, but it’s time to start thinking about summer. Specifically summer camps for kids.NDSU is launching their new Herd U youth camp this year offering a unique selection of classes ranging from the human body, to cuisine, to even architecture with the goal of getting kids engaged in creative problem solving.
The Junior Architects program is aiming to teach kids the basics of architecture and structural engineering, while engaging their creativity with activities like building models and designing their dream bedroom.
“When I bring up the idea that you could be an engineer or an architect someday, they always kind of shy away from it…. But when I explain to them that the activities that we’re doing in class are so similar to what an engineer or an architect does in their career, it really does interest them a little bit more and they have a lot of fun with it.”
The classes will run from June 9th to the 26th, you can find a full schedule and get signed up here.
