Suspect Involved in Chase and Officer Involved Shooting South of Crookston Is Identified

POLK CO., Minn. (KVRR) — The man involved in a chase and officer involved shooting on Monday has been identified as 34-year-old Caleb Coffey of Oklahoma.
Polk County Sheriff’s Office says the chase started at the Pembina Port of Entry when Coffey was confronted by U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
The chase eventually went through downtown Crookston and ended on County Road 9 where Coffee was shot.
He was taken to Altru in Grand Forks with a non-life threatening injury.
Coffey is now at Northwest Regional Correctional Center awaiting charges.
The officer who shot him has not been identified.
Minnesota BCA continues to investigate.
